Avohass was founded in 2012 by Donald Jones and Amy Bowman with a simple belief: great food starts with great ingredients.
What began as a personal search for healthier cooking oils quickly became a passion for avocado oil and the remarkable versatility of the avocado fruit. After years of studying nutrition, sourcing, and food production, we recognized an opportunity to bring premium avocado oil to more kitchens across the United States.
Today, more than a decade later, that commitment remains unchanged.
We specialize exclusively in avocado oil and work with carefully selected producers in Mexico, New Zealand, Kenya, and Europe to deliver oils that meet our standards for quality, purity, flavor, and performance. At Avohass, avocado oil isn’t just another product — it’s the foundation of our brand. For more than a decade, we’ve focused on producing avocado oil that delivers both exceptional flavor and dependable performance in the kitchen.
As the avocado oil category has grown, so have the ways people use it. Today we offer both extra virgin (unrefined) avocado oil and refined avocado oil, giving home cooks and professional kitchens the flexibility to choose the right oil for every application.
Both oils begin with the same thing: high-quality avocados and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Avohass was founded with a simple goal: to produce avocado oil that preserves the natural qualities of the fruit.
Extra virgin avocado oil is made using a cold pressing process that gently separates the oil from the avocado flesh. This allows the oil to retain its natural color, flavor and many of the nutrients found in the fruit.
The result is a vibrant, emerald-green oil with a smooth texture and subtle avocado flavor that enhances everything from salads and vegetables to grilled meats and seafood. With a smoke point of 400 degrees F, it's also ideal for medium heat cooking.
Because it is not processed, extra virgin avocado oil also contains naturally occurring antioxidants and beneficial monounsaturated fats.
As avocado oil has become more widely used, many cooks look for an oil that offers the same healthy fat profile with a lighter flavor and exceptional cooking performance.
Refined avocado oil is carefully filtered and refined to create a clean, neutral-tasting oil that performs beautifully at high temperatures up to 500 degrees F.
